View Full Version : yellow or not??

88*mr208-15-2009, 12:12 AMso its a dark blue color now with about the same color interior...idk about the rest of u but i have always loved bright yellow on a sleek car...it just looks sexy wat do u think when the body work is finished paint it canarie yellow or leave it dark blue?? Davis08-15-2009, 12:13 AMDo not change the color! Dark Blue Pearl is the best color for the MK1 in my opinion. I'm jealous. :( 88*mr208-15-2009, 12:16 AMwell im going to let the board decide if the poll goes yellow its getting painted after the body work is done lol if not ill just match the paint keep it origial..dont get me wrong i love the color it is now but i think yellow would just look so sick 328FTW08-15-2009, 12:21 AMYour car you decide, seriously whatever makes you enjoy the car. People express opinions of how they would make the car but its not theirs and you do what makes you happy not someone else. SW21T08-15-2009, 01:17 AMWhat Yellow? Davis08-15-2009, 07:51 AMUnless your going to be spending a whole bunch on the color change, then go for it. If not, factory paint job ftw.

Mehhh it's alright. DBP is much sexier. ;) Everett08-18-2009, 02:52 PMI dont like yellow! Original paint is the shiz! muffinman08-19-2009, 10:15 AMi don't think the MK1's look good yellow. traintech8608-23-2009, 06:36 PMgrrrr if you wanna paint it yellow, trade me cars and paint mine yellow. i am not a fan of this shade of red and ever since i saw that shade of blue i have had to decide between that shade of blue or a deep green shade. bah so hard! grizzy22509-03-2009, 10:03 AMi like yellow, but not on the mk1... thats just my opinion.

like 328FTW said... word for word;) curvesrgood09-03-2009, 10:10 AMThere is only one yellow you could even consider and it will be expensive... Fly Yellow, the 80's Ferrari Yellow color. I considered painting one of my two 88's that color, but think I've settled on matching them in Ferrari Red (Rosso Corsa). Then I can swap body panels, spoilers, decklids, etc at will. I vote for keeping it DBP. RePete09-03-2009, 12:24 PMJeez, don't change it. I've always loved Dark Blue Pearl. Yellow is for taxis and schoolbuses! :) Raptor13x09-03-2009, 01:30 PMUnless you're going to do it right, which means tearing the car down to the bare chassis, then acid-dipping it, prepping it properly, and painting the entire thing, inside and out, don't do it. Also, the cost of the paint job would exceed the value of the vehicle, so don't do it, lol. mr2v63vz09-03-2009, 05:55 PMpaint it gunmetal or keep it blue i hate yellow
but serouisly if you want it yellow its your car do what makes you happy
but paint it gunmetal ;-) SW21T09-03-2009, 08:20 PMIm offended, no one likes yellow:(. LOL any ways paint it the way you want. Your car. mr2v63vz09-03-2009, 09:29 PMdude i dont like yellow but your cars fresh! Oteck09-03-2009, 09:42 PMi can't feel for the yellow, it remind me of a taxi.
why not paint it with rust? that's the mk1 natural color SW21T09-03-2009, 09:56 PMdude i dont like yellow but your cars fresh!

Thanks man, I feel better  mr22go06-29-2011, 03:15 AMi think blue is awesome never seen an dark blue mr2 toyotaspeed9006-30-2011, 09:28 PMit's your effin car.... who cares what the other MR2 owners think?

original post was 8-15-2009 so I think it no longer matters. Oteck06-30-2011, 09:54 PMreally that long? it musta naturally converted to a deep red (rust) or crumbled into nothingness by now lemontit07-06-2011, 10:22 PMUnless your going to be spending a whole bunch on the color change, then go for it. I think this yellow suits the car well, but I will vote on not taking a DBP painted AW11 as the victim to the color change. Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
