View Full Version : where to buy new jdm beams parts

psuPbikeRider8807-22-2009, 08:51 PMHey, I need an accessory belt, water pump + any gaskets or O-rings that go with it, an idler bearing on the acc. belt (6204DU2), and another idler bearing on the timing belt (368D219DWA18). I'd like to get these things new before I put my motor in the car. I tried asking the guys from lithia toyota in their forum, but he said they cant get the jdm parts. Does anyone know where I can get these parts new? thanks jakedasnake07-22-2009, 09:04 PMMay want to speak to Celica RA45 hey may be able to help you out but it wont be very cheap! as for the accessory belt you can get one from the 5sfe they are the same! not sure about the water pump though! best of luck! Celica RA4507-22-2009, 10:04 PMwater pump is the same as gen 3 3sge motor if that helps i can get the parts for you it normaly takes 2 weeks to get them to here and then add 1 week to america ,but ineed a pic of every thing then get prices and then check weight to give you a price on postage psuPbikeRider8807-23-2009, 10:41 PMso can i get the water pump in the U.S?
what car (year, model) was that motor stock in in the US???

Hope that answers your questions Servin07-24-2009, 11:46 AMHey Angelo and Psu you can get certain gen3 parts in the US. It all depends on the dealer and they dont cross reference to any car, its just a available number in the system. Contact Aaron at Lithia I believe he can order the gen3 water pump its the same as the GTE. I got my timing belt for my BEAMS from a local dealer since my BEAMS uses a late gen3 belt. MANDALAY07-24-2009, 11:54 AMAgree Servin some of the parts are the same as the GEN 3 turbo. As long as you can get GEN 3 turbo parts then your ok.
But EPC shows different number for the timing belts psuPbikeRider8807-24-2009, 01:25 PMso I can get a gen 3 3sgte water pump and it will work fine? sweet.

^^ works?? ^^ jakedasnake07-24-2009, 02:33 PMBe careful with that as I thinks there is a slight difference between a gen2 and a gen3 someone on here made a post about it in the beams forum oh yea it was 94MR2 search "beams water pump" see if that helps! MANDALAY07-24-2009, 06:22 PMso I can get a gen 3 3sgte water pump and it will work fine? sweet.

That's a gen2. psuPbikeRider8807-27-2009, 05:28 PM94MR2's thread says that the gen2 will work... now im confused lol

Also, does anyone know where I can get thos bearings? One is the idler/tensioner for the altenator belt, and the other is the idler/tensioner for the timing belt. Thanks guys MANDALAY07-27-2009, 08:40 PMI have a spare for the alternator with bolt and nut.
The timing on , out of Japan around $80 psuPbikeRider8807-27-2009, 08:52 PMis the one you have new? MANDALAY07-27-2009, 08:56 PMyes MANDALAY07-27-2009, 08:57 PMBut its for the MR2 layout ie alternator is in the lower position. MANDALAY07-27-2009, 09:41 PMAfter reading the other thread you posted its a bit more clearer.
You need
water pump
Gasket
Alternator tensioner for celica or Rav4
Belt

with regards to the timming belt do you require both pulleys , ones an idler the other is the tensioning pulley psuPbikeRider8807-28-2009, 01:16 PMdo you think you could get a pic of how the "mr2 layout" is... I'm thinking thats how I'm going to set it up if I can. As far as the timing belt bearing, Its the one that goes right beneath the cam gears (kinda inbetween and below them). MANDALAY07-28-2009, 03:50 PMThats the timing belt tensioner .
For cost effectiveness stay on the celica layout or else it will cost you a lot.
I think best you post some pictures and share your concerns psuPbikeRider8807-28-2009, 06:00 PMIll try to get pictures this weekend when Im home. My mr2 already had a redtop in it, so im really just trying to use all the same stuff from the redtop, just with the greytop in place on the block and head. The swap is already complete, just needed a fresh head and block etc. The only problem, is that when i took my redtop out... I figured there was only one place everthing could go, so im not sure if it was swapped to mr2 layout, or kept on the celica layout. How can I tell?... by looking at the harness? MANDALAY07-28-2009, 10:47 PMEasiest way firstly number on ECU , is the alternator low on intake side or high on exhaust side.
If i was a betting person i would bet that its a celica.
Who did the wiring ? psuPbikeRider8807-29-2009, 08:13 AMThe guy who had the car before me did the swap i believe (or had someone do it for him). Mr220v said that he saw the car before dave (the guy i bought it from) sold it to me. I'll have to ask him to see if he remembers which config it was in... I guess I could also look at the old engine and see if it has that block off plate that goes where the altenator mount for the celica set-up is. psuPbikeRider8807-29-2009, 09:45 AMOk, mr220v said he thinks it was origionally an mr2 motor, so it was in mr2 config. I'll check this weekend for that block off plate, to make sure though. mr220v08-06-2009, 11:35 AMI'm 99% sure that the motor was originally from an mr2. Even if it wasn't, it had all the needed conversion parts. I actually saw it run, though with low comp on one cylinder.

So yeah, just take all the parts off the old motor, and put them on the new motor. Just use the new block and head. psuPbikeRider8808-07-2009, 10:50 AMyeah, thats what I'm doing. Origionally, I was hoping to have the car running before I go back to psu, but I doubt that is going to happen... Should definately be done this winter though.
