View Full Version : Parts go-to guy?

Ashmen07-01-2009, 03:25 PMFinally got my Redtop on the stand and have started ripping into it. Who should I get in touch with to get a timing belt, tensioner, pulley, gaskets, ect? Also, do I need to order a Gen 3 oil pump as well or will a Gen 2 work? MANDALAY07-02-2009, 10:40 AMSee if someone from Japan can answer your thread. If that fails i can get everything for you but its a 4-5 week turn around. Need to order first then comes here then send to you. Ive just rebought all those parts for my new SC build. But you need to be specific on the parts.Tensioner ? timing belt or or air con belt.Pulley which one; Where do you have your alternator positioned. jakedasnake07-02-2009, 09:30 PMSome of these Items can be used from the usdm motors like t-belt water pump and gaskets but dont quote me on that! I do know that the acc belts, alt and a/c you can reuse the 5sfe belts and crank pulley! MANDALAY07-02-2009, 11:12 PM^ ONLY if he has the alternator in the stock MR2 position. Remember most will be Celicas Ashmen07-03-2009, 11:23 AMI'll be running the alternator in the lower position, and swapping pulleys so there is no interference issues. A month turn over time isn't much of a problem, there is still some prep work to be done. MANDALAY07-03-2009, 06:21 PMIf you do put the alternator in the stock MR2 position you will be missing the bracket that blocks the water galeery where the celica alternator bracket is. pulleys ets.
Or you can custom block it . IVE written in detail all the things that are different B/W the MR2 and Celica in a thread. All are not necessary to do the swap however there are differences CameronTucker07-05-2009, 02:12 AMspeaking of needing parts for the red top...i need the ecu and the harness to put the red top in my 91...anyone know where i can find them? PM me if you do puretone07-07-2009, 12:50 PMBy the way, you're in 'Bama, might not be sucha hike to get someone in Canadialand to see if they can't import/export these parts. There are plenty of JDM rigs running around over there and I suspect there might be more than just on Canadian Toyota dealer (that I could find...) that has the ability or legally order JDM parts. Servin07-08-2009, 11:39 AMDude he's from Alabama Im surprised he has a BEAMS and Internet! DCKilla07-08-2009, 05:05 PMYou know, some of them even have shoes. MANDALAY07-08-2009, 08:54 PMFill me in with this local joke . Whats wrong with Alabama ? Servin07-09-2009, 10:14 AMLet's see well its one of the last remaining places in the united states with large regions of rural counties, generally comes last in nationwide polls i.e. schooling, and first in negative polls i.e. obesity. Also the brunt of incest jokes cause its legal to marry your cousin there. 99% of the population is hillbilly/redneck hybrid. Its also very southern which will probably mean nothing to you being your from Aussie.

I could go forever about it and tell you about it's brother Mississippi but that's better saved for a US history class.

But I have to admit Im southern too bein from Texas so I can poke fun all day!

Here's one example of good ole Bama smarts!

You said it, not me :) :) :) Does dubya have cheney on a leash back there in TX yet, or did he shoot someone else in the face already? puretone07-09-2009, 03:57 PMFill me in with this local joke . Whats wrong with Alabama ?

Country-folk, think the south won the war, think all democrats are homosexuals and think the same of anyone that doesn't like guns or have a V8 in their "truck", breed with their sisters & other family members, think folks of different race & colour should all be slave && Baby Jesus & God are universal-win. I suspect most of them think Australia is probably Afghanistan & everyone there is Usama Bin Laden theneanderthal07-09-2009, 05:54 PMmr2oc.com MANDALAY07-09-2009, 11:53 PMLet's see well its one of the last remaining places in the united states with large regions of rural counties, generally comes last in nationwide polls i.e. schooling, and first in negative polls i.e. obesity. You guys cracked me up :)
I thought Tasmania was bad :)
No incest there but a hell of alot of 16 year old mums Servin07-10-2009, 11:21 AMYou said it, not me :) :) :) Does dubya have cheney on a leash back there in TX yet, or did he shoot someone else in the face already?

He just kinda trolls around the southern lesser inhabited areas of TX. Occasionally there is the mysterious shooting but then news disappears about it. We just sacrifice some folk to feed his need to kill that way he doesnt go berserk and go after the rest of the country.

At Tasmania has an excuse being a improvised nation but Alabama is part of America! Just goes to show we arent that advanced as we like to gloat about. Ashmen07-10-2009, 01:11 PMYou know, some of them even have shoes.

Some of us have indoor plumbing too. Anyway, the alternator bracket is going to stay there until I feel like either having one machined, or finding someone with spare parts. Speaking of, if anyone has a spare Beams water outlet or block off plate shoot me a PM. No one has chimed in about the oil pump either. Will a Gen2 work like the water pump? muffinman07-10-2009, 01:32 PMBrits In Bama!

That's a great example of Alabama although they really don't do much to make Americans look good. DCKilla07-10-2009, 03:03 PMThat's a great example of Alabama although they really don't do much to make Americans look good.

They didn't even take the longest stretch through Alabama. If you look at the map they took I-10 through Mobile. It's basicly like crossing the streat. Look how much trouble it caused in that one little area of the state. puretone07-12-2009, 09:19 AMHey by the way in Jamaica they have RHD Toyota's & lots && lots of Altezza's (they call them Baby IS300 or Baby Lexus) and they order parts for them all the time from what I hear....
You *could* give them a ring down there and see if they are willing to ship you parts....its not even 3 hours flight from where you are at now. Would even be worth taking "vacation trip" down there to get parts & party it up.
Try your best pigeon-english....

this is how I did it with the Canadian dealer with limited success....not much JDM for them, from what I understand is that Jamaica is much more JDM Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
