- 1.0 front drop
- 1.0 rear drop

Although Tanabe quotes these springs lowering the car 1" all around, I noticed a lower drop. Maybe closer to 1.3-1.5", not necessarily a bad thing in my case. Ride quality is still bearable. I bounce a little over small bumps, but I do not bottom out. All in all, I recommend these springs to anyone searching for an affordable, linear, performance spring. Just a note, I also have tokico Illumina struts.
:) RePete09-30-2007, 10:16 AMJust to be clear: these are progressive springs, not linear. Diltz02-09-2011, 10:57 PMMy MR2 came with these when I bought it so I can't comment on the differences vs the stock springs, but overall they're pretty nice. The drop is about perfect (yes it's lower than 1in) for me with 17 inch wheels and 40 series rubber and not to low that I scrape the nose on driveways and speed-bumps.

Pros:
Good drop
Handles nice and flat/minimizes body roll
Only a little dive under hard braking
Good response in left to right transitions

Cons:
Can be bouncy if your road sucks a big fat one

Overall:
I like them but I'm also new to the MR2, much better than my 89 Corolla SR5 with GR2s and Eibach springs though. Fairly inexpensive too, which is always nice. A good set of springs IMO. Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
