3sgtepower02-18-2006, 01:53 PMHeres My mr2. It spins the tires through 2nd gear which isnt bad for a ct26 powered car. Its my daily driver, reliable (after dumping 4000 into it ontop of the $2850 price tag) fastest japanese car in my town, and after I take some LS1's and a Buick GNX down, itll be the fastest.

Mods include Apexi n1 exhaust, 3" ebay dpipe, Apexi intake, TRD motor mounts, Spec Stage 2 clutch, fidanza flywheel, 17" rims, KYB AGX struts w/eibach sportline lowering springs. 17psi of boost, and very minimal shaftplay on a 160,000 mile turbo! Original engine and original transmission, still going strong, and I just filled it up with GM Synchromesh so no grinding into 2nd!

So the Supra isn't local? Cause that's one pretty damn fast japanese car if it has 600+ rwhp. 3sgtepower02-20-2006, 09:11 PMIm talking about my suburb of stl called webster groves. Tuner bug never bit in my suburb, so theres not a lot of competition. A couple of 40 year old midlife crisis, Camaro SS owners who dont tune or race there cars (The black one down the street had a baby seat in the back and grocery bags when I looked at it, Black LS1 SS Vert), one Buick GNX tuner. THe guy with the 600whp Supra lives on the other side of stlouis city about 30 miles north in a different suburb called St. Peters, I just claimed to be fastest japanese car in my town as in my suburb, not in all of stlouis, not by a long shot. Hell, even the subaru dealership down the road doesnt even sell STi's

There isnt very many people into "tuning" there cars here, its mostly SUV's and minivan's, with very very few modded cars. none of the major import shows like SEMA or HIN ever stop here, we get a crappy watered down car show when it does come, missing all the good cars, so there it definitly wouldnt be that hard to have one of the fastest japanese cars in the whole city. I think the fastest right now is a mid 10 second RX7 though, that I have seen, has the slip backing it up on a stlouis street racing website. And some rumored 9 and 8 second imports, but none that Ive seen yet, you know how people will claim outrageous quartermile times sometimes.. Who knows this year at Gateway might yeild some hard competition.

We didnt have problems with other performance car owners tagging along, just as long as no one riced it up, which no one did. We made them feel included by allowing there cars in the pics too, just to show the decent turn out we had, it was really a supra meet but no one cared that mr2's, 300zx and a corvette showed up, the more the merrier we thought. I was proud that a car of a corvettes caliber chose to park next to mine.

We all went to a speedshop after that, and had a bbq while looking at some of there "toys" in the back.

Fun day really

Oh and i wanted to say, that mr2slow4you, those 3rd gen RX7 rims look awesome, great upgrade over stock rims, but somehow looks classy/racer enough like they should have been the real stock rims for the car

the red bodykitted duece looks really clean, you must only drive that on weekends
