mr2greasemonkey02-15-2006, 11:27 PMVasoline, can buy it anywhere, and it's petroluem product. With it's low melting point it makes a great pre-lube for o-rings, round seals, stubborn hoses, if you pack it in around seals( like cam and crank seals) it keeps the spring inside from falling out when you install them. Yup, sounds about right. :omg: dannn02-16-2006, 01:28 AMyea you can use it when assembling a tranny to hold all the washers and check balls in place. CyFi02-16-2006, 02:13 AMi use it for my stubborn hose. Mister2.202-16-2006, 11:14 AMGood info though, never thought about using it for that sort of thing. Might be good to keep a jar in the garage from now on. Gairloch02-16-2006, 09:08 PMIt can also be used to freshen up rubber weather seals on windows and t-tops. Mister2.202-16-2006, 09:20 PMI thought it was bad for rubber? Gairloch02-16-2006, 09:23 PMThe only time I've used it was when the seal was already needing to be replaced and I wanted a band-aid fix; I should have mentioned that. It's not something I would do to seals that are still recoverable. mr2slow4you02-16-2006, 09:55 PMi use it for my stubborn hose.

Thats not something most guys will admit. V6'er02-16-2006, 10:22 PMThats not something most guys will admit.

V6'er02-17-2006, 08:06 AMWell, heavy axle grease will do the same thing. But, I wouldn't put that on my woman. Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc.
