alatack03-05-2009, 01:03 PMyour opinion plz.....I got a chance to get the "GReddy T67 turbo kit for Gen II 3S-GTE" for about 2k. what ya think? And specs and performance opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks:) ATSAaron03-05-2009, 02:32 PMGood turbo. Needs lots of other stuff (intercooler, ecu, injectors, cams, etc, etc) to really take advantage of it though. Has potential for 500whp though.

Thanks for the info Aaron............so....if my mr2 is lightly modifed, this turbo kit is not recommended? If I want to keep it lightly modified? Basically, I want about 300whp for regular driving. Also for the price....$2k....is this good price for it? Thanks:) PearlJammzz03-11-2009, 07:30 AMThat's waaay too much turbo if all you want is ~300. If you want ~300, get you a GT28rs or hell, even Gen3's have been able to make that w/ BPU.

I know a guy running cams, intake, exhaust, and a gt2871 and he's making (IIRC) 314rwhp on pump gas. This is on a gen3 though. alatack03-11-2009, 12:35 PMThat's waaay too much turbo if all you want is ~300. If you want ~300, get you a GT28rs or hell, even Gen3's have been able to make that w/ BPU.

I know its a bit of an overkill if all I want is about 300hp but, the price seems really good. Also, my concern is "will it have big time turbo lag if I don't modifiy other stuff?" The mods I have are intake, exhaust, BOV, EVC(electronic valve controller) I think this is the boost controller:confused: thats about it. PearlJammzz03-11-2009, 01:06 PMThat's the problem, no turbo that is 500+ rwhp capable is going to spool half-decent at all on out little 2.0 litres. As a general rule, usually the smaller the turbo the better the spool so you don't want to get too big of a turbo. Trust me when I say you don't want it unless you're going to go that high. Your car will be MUCH faster w/ a smaller, better matched turbo. MR21003-12-2009, 08:50 PMI have a friend I work with that has the T67 on his 2.0L subaru motor. He runs a 50 shot of nos to get him up to speed, the turbo doesn't spool until 5k rpms. He only uses it as a drag car, and before he installed the nos he had a similar 0-60 foot time as a regular base model civic.

Once the turbo hits it gets like 410 awhp, but it's really extreme lag.

Since you're in the area of a 2k price range and want around 300whp I would look at some ATS power packages with the CT27. Just a suggestion, though. alatack03-13-2009, 12:36 AMthanks all for the info......I appreciate your opinion. Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc.
