nyachty01-20-2009, 10:44 AM1986 MR2 5 speed, white original paint, very clean, no leaks from sunroof. No cracks on the dash. Small dent on rear right quarter panel. 30mpg easily at 70mph. Recent 4 new tires and valve cover gasket, alternator, battery, a/c compressor with dryer changed out this year with conversion to R34. 170k miles with synthetic oil only. Great sound system, loud! $1700.
Please, no out of state checks or "ship me the car to where ever", offers.
Call Norm at 772-215-1742 como01-20-2009, 09:38 PMInterested.

I see you're new here; has the car been well maintained? If I bought it I'd be putting upwards of 6k miles on it in the first 2 weeks, is there any reason to believe it wouldn't make that kind of trip?

What's your timeframe for selling? I won't be able to make the trip to FL until probably april at the soonest.

Also, someone mentioned that there are a bunch of '85's floating around that people think are 86's. I'm very particular on the year.

How is the underbody? I'm from the northeast, cars up here rust out in a few years, so I'd like to get a car with a great clean underbody, especially if it's going to be that much over the kbb. nyachty01-20-2009, 10:20 PMHello,

I placed an add in Craigslist and there is a bidding war going on at present for the car. A local MR2 collector told me my MR2 was a 8 out of 10. Just minor stuff.

Sorry but I'm not going to wait until April for you.

The car is more than able to load more miles on it and I live in Florida. The car has no rust what's so ever.

As for KBB I haven't seen one that lists an MR2 that far back. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think true MR2 collectors follow KBB books. Before I bought this car the price range was $1000-5000. It's what you put in it that counts. Not book values.

I also worked for Toyota from 85-90 and I know it's an 86, not an 85. Plain and simple, just look at the serial number!

Thanks for taking the time to email me. Good luck in your search. como01-21-2009, 12:29 AMno worries, thanks for replying :)
I'm not really a collector, so I don't know what collectors pay. I honestly didn't expect anyone to wait that long, I'm probably going to have to push my trip back to the fall anyway.
