jmm3953101-10-2009, 02:27 PMI have for sale a 1985 MR2, it has 222000 total miles but the engine has only about 6000 miles. In Jan 2007 I had a Jasper remanufactured engine installed in the car. I paid $2400 for the engine, along with the engine my mechanic also put in :
New exhaust manifold
New oil pressure sender
New water pump
New motor mount
New distributor
New ignition wire set
All new hoses and belts

All four struts replaced 3 years ago, purchased from www.twosrus.com
Brand new battery purchased 3 days ago.
Brand new alternator installed 2 days ago.
Clutch master cylinder replaced recently.
Delrin replacement power window gear from www.twosrus.com still new not installed yet.
Brand new coolant reservoir ($110)
New fuel pump installed June 2007
There is no air conditioning. Evaporator and compressor were removed a long time ago.

The car runs great thanks to the new engine but the body/paint is in bad condition. There is rust in all of the typical MR2 rust places. It was in a front fender-bender accident a few years ago. Some of the body parts can be restored though. This would be a great car to take out the engine and other new parts and put into a new body. Since I replaced the engine the car has mostly sat in my garage because I travel alot for work. I love this car and I don't want to sell it but I am moving to California and the car can't come with me. I am the second owner of this car, I have had this car for 22 years I got it in 87. It drives great and can be driven anywhere. I will drive up to 200 miles to meet any buyer.
I'm asking $900 for it because the engine and other new parts alone are worth at least that much.
