Mach201-16-2006, 02:44 AMHello, I posted a few other comments and hadnt checked in thought I would tell my story to any one who had 5 or 20 minuets :lol:

I live in tx and have been into modifying cars since I bought what I consider my first car in april of 2000 a Celica GT, (my moms 88 old's celeb doesnt count she gave it to me ;) ) any way I moved to Dallas that summer not knowing how to change an alternator onmy way to growing up. I was 20 and going to get an apartment with my long time girlfriend. Everything didnt work out as planned, I was homeless for a few months and went through some rough times, we eventually got in an apartment and started living life as it were I supportted her through school for some years trying to gain automotive knowledge to mod my car.. but things kept coming up that had to come first.

I got a better job about 2 years later with a great thing called Comission, I finally got some KYB suspensioon and Eibach springs, rims, tires, a st185 bumper and a nice subdued wing I had plans HUGE plans I even found out about Burien Toyota's Turbo Kit and managed to save up enough to buy some forged Arias Pistons to have my motor ready for it.

But as things tend to do they went horribly wrong, I took my car to a mechanic that worked where I did, he said he could weld in some floor pans since the ones I had were rusted to the point you could see the ground through the carpet. I took the car over to his house, little did I know that would be the last time I drove her. while welding a small fire caught underneath the car no one saw. It hit a fuel line and the car went up in his front yard. Worst day of my life....

The rims were salvagable but everything from the firewall back was gone. Motor was ok though. He did help me pull the motor and trans ( which later he moved from that house and didnt tell me and sold the head ) and gave me 500 dollars toward this MR2 that he had found.

It was in sad sorry S*** shape but he promised to help me build it up. We got as far as untangling the harness then the excuses started. I was basically stuck with a car I could not fix and no daily transportation.

Went on like this for some months with me and my girl having to share her PT Cruiser , ( *shudder* ) but once I found a diffrent job that was further the MR started giving up the ghost, at which point I started driving and paying for my cousin's car a 2002 ford mustang.

I drove it or 8 months ( of hard time looking for someone to finance me) and finally ended up with the daily driver I have now and gave his back.

so now I am finally at the threshold of boost. I just hope I can take advantage of the opprotunity and make the right choice. Thanks for your time...
