View Full Version : Detailing your MR2 body kits

Tie08-01-2008, 02:12 AMhow many kinds of body kits is there for the mk1 if there is any at that? and dos any one have one on there mk1's?

thx Raptor13x08-01-2008, 08:16 AMThere's a couple kits out there, but most I've seen have been ghastly. The only kit that looks remotely good imo is the stock aero kit that comes on many models.

A couple people have made some custom panels that look alright, but I don't know if they look any better than stock. curvesrgood08-01-2008, 11:39 AMI'm trying to work on three stages of kits... our stage 1 kit is almost done (still have a front lip to design/fab though). It isn't for the faint of heart and will be fairly expensive as it is metal and not fiberglass stuff. Here is a shot of our decklid...

and here is one of the dual matching/functional side scoops... driver's side pipes in through the side of the car and into the engine bay.

I'm sure they aren't for everyone, but after looking at the other options out there, I didn't see any I actually liked so we decided to come up with our own. Our last customer car is taking a rediculously long time to finish up, Dad isn't working on it because he isn't making anything on it... the guy that he has been working with is dragging his feet something terrible, probably because he doesn't want to lose his place to work on stuff. Hopefully we can get that car out soon and get back to getting this kit ready for production. We've got to fit another set of side scoops to get the radius right for the side of the car, and a few things like that still, so we aren't quite there yet, but we're anxious to get back on this just as soon as the shop clears out. If you want to see a few more shots including the other scoop, check HERE (http://www.carpron.com/multisite/v/Upload/herdogoats/two+twos/?g2_page=1).
