Mr2xsTyle11-30-2005, 01:49 AMHey can any one tell me a rough estimate on how much a 1995 mk2 would cost + gen 3 engine imported from japan + installation. i have about 25k out of my own pocket and wondering if this would go smoothly any suggestions?

eRik Preston11-30-2005, 02:05 AMI dont know how much a gen 3 from japan would cost but i have learned a few things about the 95 models.

Acording to sport compact car magazine they only sold 356 in the us that year so they are harder to find than previous years.

they also said that they can go for around 20k for a stock model.
I found mine for 11k.

Good luck Mr2xsTyle11-30-2005, 02:10 AMThanks a lot do you know any dealers around where i could purchase them i just read up in the sport compact magazine that their are more than enough problems with the stock turbo mr2 i have to start working on it asap if i want it to run good when i actually want to drive it!

eRik Preston11-30-2005, 02:21 AMI saw one here:http://www.mr2trader.com/index.php?a=2&b=212

I would check auto trader.

Mine has 125k miles and works very well. If you buy one that is in good condition i dont think you will have much to worry about. Preston11-30-2005, 02:28 AMI saw one in temecula with the swap already done for $9900.00. Mr2xsTyle11-30-2005, 02:32 AMalright thanks for the heads up but im not sure if i can get one asap cuz my parents are thinking about buying me a type s rsx i dont want it though so i am considering mr2 i saw one on auto trader for 8.5 k fairly good condition and it has stock turbo its also a mk2 1995 so yeah LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS!! mikeswickednick12-09-2005, 09:45 AMive seen 95s go for 20-27ish in mint condtion

theres only about 600 95 turbos in the us and thats at about the time of 1995
so theres exponentally less i would imagine Ncturnal12-09-2005, 10:27 AMPlease don't mod a 95. :tear: Fazed Out12-12-2005, 01:55 PMYeah, don't mod it... just paint it lime green with orange flames...

I think a gen 3 costs somewhere around 3 grand, plus installation, plus shipping. Not exactly cheap... plus you gotta find someone who can do a good job on the install (I have probs finding people who would even WORK on my 92na for simple stuff) tigerpee12-12-2005, 04:42 PMfor 25k, import a 98 here. Alex12-12-2005, 07:19 PMYeah I wouldn't recomend buying a 95 unless you can find a good deal. Get a '94 instead. It doesn't really make any sense to put a gen3 in if you have a perfectly running gen2.

Word to the wise, just because you have 25k to spend doesn't mean you should spend it all. Get your parents to invest some money for you. Better yet, invest it all. BTW, 94 had the Gen 2 as well and still subject to a price jump over the 93. tigerpee12-13-2005, 11:47 AMyah - forget the car, invest it all, then give it to me Alex12-13-2005, 01:25 PMOn second thought, you won't be able to find a 94 since Brian has bought them all!! Just kidding. :D

But if I had tons of money I would try to buy a '94 since you get the painted sideskirts/front lip, 94+ tails, and a few other things over the '93s. Don't mess with a 91 or 92 if you've got some money to spend. At least get a 1993 for the better brakes, tranny, front lip, etc. KyleScha12-15-2005, 05:24 AMyeah if your planning to mod the car dont get a 95. Its pointless to spend the extra 5 grand on a 95 if your just going to modify it anyway. Half the reason anyone buys a 95 is just to be like hey "ive got a '95 and you dont" ;) That and its a great collectors item :) Ozymandias12-20-2005, 01:07 PMThanks a lot do you know any dealers around where i could purchase them i just read up in the sport compact magazine that their are more than enough problems with the stock turbo mr2 i have to start working on it asap if i want it to run good when i actually want to drive it!

What the hell? Stock MR2 turbos don't have any problems. And why do you want to take a super expensive, rare 95t if you are just going to molest it by swapping out the motor when you get it? Buy a 93T and save yourself the money.

And I agree with everyone else, blowing 25k on a car like that doesn't make any sense. All the mony you dump into it to swap out the motor and everything will just ruin the resale value. Just imagine throwing your money in a trash can and setting it on fire. If you MUST spend all the money buy something else like a S2k or something, but my advice is spend half on your car and invest the other half. turbonatormr212-20-2005, 01:25 PMI will sell you my 93 for 20 grand.. and you will still have 5 grand to invest somewhere else. Ozymandias12-20-2005, 01:28 PMI will sell you my 93 for 20 grand.. and you will still have 5 grand to invest somewhere else. I'll give you an "A" for effort! turbonatormr212-20-2005, 02:18 PM:rofl: I'll give you an "A" for effort!

Hey! I am the second owner and it's in mint condition. The chasis has 103,000 miles on it and the new motor only 3,890 miles on it.

See here..

Well I guess I'm keeping my car. I spent so much money and time on it that if I wouldnt get 20K for it then I would rather be baried with it..:D

Also thanks for the compliment ZMR212-20-2005, 05:22 PMBuy my car! Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc. All rights reserved.
