View Full Version : Tools and Machines Nifty or a waste of $$?

Gairloch01-04-2008, 12:45 AMHas anyone played with one of these?

HUSKYPRO Pro 3/8 In. Drive Extendable Ratchet - 65507 at The Home Depot (http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?id=100029685&jspStoreDir=hdus&catalogId=10053&marketID=401&productId=100029685&locStoreNum=8125&langId=-1&linktype=product&storeId=10051&ddkey=THDSiteMap) Mister2.201-04-2008, 12:57 AMI'd buy one. Russell the Love Muscle01-04-2008, 01:04 AMits rated 5/5, wouldn't hurt to get one if it has a warranty PHOENIX01-04-2008, 01:37 AMI used to have a tool box full of husky pro stuff, never had a problem with any of the tools. Russell the Love Muscle01-04-2008, 07:24 PMI would just be a little wary because the only reason you'd need it longer is for more torque, and being extendable=hollow; hollow=weaker Gairloch01-04-2008, 07:26 PMThat's exactly what I was looking at. Russell the Love Muscle01-04-2008, 07:40 PMdoes it come with a warranty? Bak@EMSPowered01-04-2008, 09:21 PMseems like a waste. just get a short one and a longer one and then also a breaker bar :) i dont like adjustable tools, somthing always breaks on em canadam01-04-2008, 09:41 PM^ Agreed, but for this price, you couldn't get those 3 pieces. Oteck01-04-2008, 09:45 PMi got a mastercraft ver of that, lifetime warranty ;) goddom01-12-2008, 12:22 AMI just got one of those for my B-day...

I haven't actually used it yet, but Im not really impressed. What seems like it will annoy me to no end is that the extending handle turns freely. But I see one advantage, if the swivel head was at 90 degrees, then the turning of the handle will help get the bolt of faster once it is loose.

The swivel head locks, which is nice. sw20Tmatt05-18-2008, 09:56 PMits home depot, People have returned tires there before.... eithr way husky is an awsome brand in my opinion. I have also played with one of these when I worked there, it seemed to be strong to me. CyFi06-01-2008, 05:08 AMI have one and at first i didnt really like the fact that the handle spins freely, as previously stated, but the more i use it the more i like it. you can turn the head 90 degrees and spin off bolts quick, and it makes it easy to break a bolt loose and then shorten it to unscrew it quicker with the shorter handle. hmong33706-01-2008, 05:15 AMmehhh... just another gimmick. i'll pass. mopwer06-01-2008, 09:08 AMI see busted knuckles in the future of the user of this contraption. It has a swivel head and the handle spins, seems like a good combination for slipagae and smackage. But, as stated, you could always return it if you think its junk or smash you fist on a sharp immovable object. Just clean the blood off of it before returning.

Greg etmoron06-04-2008, 09:29 PMim a mechanic and i had that for 2 years , couldnt b happier , only thing that broke was where the head swivels but i used it EVERYDAY and put it thru torture , pretty good for 20 bucks Powered by vBulletin® Version 4.2.5 Copyright © 2026 vBulletin Solutions Inc.
