--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK everyone here it is! The meet that I talked about at Bear Mountain has finally come to fruition. Directions are simple directions, full directions will be posted closer to the date of the meet.

The day will start at 10:00am at Glenview Alliance Church in Glen Rock, PA. I recommend that anyone staying in the hotel (info on hotel further down) or coming from Hanover, Maryland, or anywhere south of York should consider meeting here, because it will be all north from here. Coffee and donuts will be served for breakfast. We will leave at approximately 10:30am.

Address for the church:
10037 Susquehanna Trail South
Glen Rock, PA 17327

From here, we will be heading north on Route 83 to the Market Street exit, across North Hills Rd, and head east on Route 30 to the Wrightsville exit. We will go up Cool Creek Rd. to Sam Lewis state park, arriving at approximately 11:00am. This is where anyone from the north (New York, New Jersey, etc.) and east (Lancaster, Reading, etc.) should probably meet.

While at Sam Lewis, we'll relax for a bit, and we have a route planned for anyone wanting to take a nice relaxing drive. There are a few roads that can be driven at a pretty good click safely. We'll take groups of 4 (for simplicity reasons), and each drive will be about 15 minutes with some great corners and nice roads.

At approximately 1:00pm, we'll leave Sam Lewis and head North on Route 441 towards Harrisburg. We'll go past Three Mile Island, and this will also be a rather scenic route as it snakes along the Susquehanna River almost the whole way. We'll make our way through a small town or two (anyone at the meet will have proper directions with pictures and landmarks), and eventually hop on to Route 283 North. We will get off at the Lindle Road exit, and take a few more turns to end up at our final stop for the day at the one and only Twos-R-Us. The new location will be ready by then, and David Hawkins (owner of Twos-R-Us) has generously volunteered to provide a grill, charcoal, hot dogs, hamburgers, and enough space to park as many MR2's as we can get! He will also have the shop open for anyone wanting to purchase parts, check out the new location, or just hang out and yak. I'm not totally sure, but we'll probably end up just hanging around and talking for the rest of the night (or at least until the charcoal runs out!).

I know there isn't much driving, no race tracks, and no competitions, but this will be a very relaxed, well organized meet meant to bring fellow MR2 owners together for a great time. Both David and myself are looking forward to this meet!

Update:Hotel rooms are provided by Country Inn and Suites, York, PA, and are (slightly better than originally thought) $100 for a single room, $110 for a suite, per night. The website to book your rooms is: Country Inns & Suites By Carlson (http://www.countryinns.com/mr2) . Please don't wait until the last minute to book the rooms, we only have so many blocked out, but more should be available if we need them. Anyone staying at the hotel Saturday night, we will get you back to the hotel if you're not familiar with the area.

Update:There will be a pre-run for the locals, so guys from Harrisburg, Hanover, and northern MD (you know who you are!) please plan on participating and helping with the routes. It will most likely take a few hours on Saturday afternoon April 19th, and I'll see if we can get David to buy us lobster tails or something (j/k David!). We'll probably end up at the Fuddruckers in Harrisburg, or if someone has any ideas, I'm open!Anyone staying at the hotel Saturday night, we will get you back to the hotel if you're not familiar with the area.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to check it out, and I really hope everyone will be able to make it to this meet. Also, it will be an annual meet, the first Saturday in May, every year.

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to post!
