brtsvg11-08-2005, 01:02 AMLooking to buy a center console assembly that fits an 87-88-89 MK1. I also need the parking brake cover (on the r/h side for these years), and would like the center storage box as well if you have that too. My center console assy is all trashed out and broken on the white 87 MR2 I recently bought. Plenty of black ones around, but I need a blue one. Great car, I'm having fun fixing it up and it's in good shape to begin with other than the console assy.

Can anybody help me locate one ?

By parking brake cover, do you mean the odd-shaped plastic piece that extends from the console to the footwell area? Or do you mean the actual covering on the e-brake handle? Either way, I have both in good shape that I'm willing to sell. Name a price and I'll consider itas long as you're in the 48 states (for shipping hassles)?

I also have a rear storage compartment. I'm not sure I want to give mine up though. I have a subwoofer installed there, but if I ever had to go back to stock to sell the car, I might keep this... in other words, you might have to pry it from me for a higher price. Mine does have a crack though on the driver's side near the base--If I used it again, I'd epoxy it from the back and it'd never be seen.

I also have a few more blue plastic bits.

Sorry, but I don't have an extra whole console in blue. If I had one in perfect shape, I'd be using it myself. Mine is epoxied in a few cracked spots and reinforced with popsicle sticks :)

Yes, that 's what I could use, it needs to be blue to match the rest of the interior. Maybe its 6" x 8" or so in size, relatively flat, covers the side of the tunnel on the passenger side attaches with several screws. Could you take a digital photo and send it to to me at ""pgthronson@comcast.net" to confirm ? If it's in good shape with attaching screws I'll be making you an offer.

Amazingly enough, since I wrote the initial message, I was able to score a blue center console and storage box yesterday at a local junkyard here in Spokane - and its exactly what I needed - from an white 87 MR2 with blue interior exactly like mine. But the parking brake cover was completely busted up on that car, so I still need that piece.
