View Full Version : Vip style mirrors

jakobe05-22-2007, 07:04 PMheres some pics of the mirrors I got online,
I bought these over a year ago and just forgot about them until recently.

they fit perfect and they function well. (power mirrors)
they even have colored leds in them to make me more visible on the highway.

however they stick up like german shepard ears on the side of the car.
and it looks absolutely ridicarus.

some people have said theres a bracket thats missing.
they didnt come with a bracket to angle them downwards on the car.
and the instruction sheet never showed one.

visracing.com has a set of mirror covers that fit over the stock mirrors that have "vip style" leds in them. but I was quoted 170 a pair ..seems high as a whole border bumper from them is only 140.00.

any advice.

I am currently working on a Talon and we are installing these mirrors on it, Here is a pic of the base on the car: [IMG]http://www.xvracing.com/jon/talonbuild/tn/IMG_0138.jpg[IMG] Its Turbo Time05-22-2007, 07:38 PMThose mirrors are slightly different then mine, but you are deffinatly missing the base. http://www.xvracing.com/jon/talonbuild/IMG_0138.JPG jakobe05-22-2007, 08:17 PMI have the bracket that came mounted on the mirror itself..its removeable and its the junction from the mirror to the car..looks similar to the one above

but it doesnt change the position of the mirror at all
its just there to provide screw holes.

I would need at least a 1-1.5 inch spacer between the bracket and the mirror, or bracket and the car to level it out.

I dont have any pics of it on the car. sorry.

I think this is just a poorly engineered mirror..probably a standard mirror that they just sell different brackets for whatever car its going on.

the mounting plate that I have has "mr2" stamped on it, but again it provides nothing when it comes to postioning of the mirror downwards. this was almost permantely screwed to the mirror when it arrived.
this plate is only about 1/8" thick plastic

the mirror wasnt used, it was new and in a sealed box with sealed mounting hardware and wires.

the instruction sheet doesnt even show it as a "separate part" the exploded view on the manual shows the plate already on the mirror. canadam05-22-2007, 08:42 PMAdvice?

Rid your beautiful stock MR2 of ricer M3 mirrors.

Honesty is the best policy- right? Its Turbo Time05-22-2007, 09:00 PMyea exactly that part is just an adapter for the bolt pattern and they did not think about the angle. What I did is bolt the adapter on the car then put the mirror on and pull it down to the possition you like and then mold the parts together. jakobe05-22-2007, 09:02 PMtrue dat^
