yoshimitsuspeed03-10-2007, 12:35 AMWhere are all the aerodynamics threads?
I thought this section would be booming.
Or is my browser just hiding them?

I hate that flat front part of my frunk right behind the radiator.
I have been thinking for a long time about cutting it out, sloping it back and diverting that air out the hood and probably doing something like a widebody and create vents on the side of the fenders near the doors to help evacuate some pressure.
This would have to help right?
Reduce drag, reduce lift, reduce how much crap your girlfriend can bring on road trips it's like a win win win situation. mr2greasemonkey03-10-2007, 01:06 AMYups.....that sounds about right.

Course it dont make a difference until your car acutally moves fast enough to need the aerodynamics, Summer. LOL. yoshimitsuspeed03-10-2007, 01:17 AMHey nice hole in the front of your car.
That's about what I am talking about:)
Now if we could just find the guy who did your glasswork :vroom:
Hey it runs.
Gettin it street legal this weekend and buying guages so I can monitor how bad I am roastin the motor and then it's time for speed testing and dirt road experimentalization:) mr2greasemonkey03-10-2007, 01:35 AMwell i didnt ask for the hole, but the guy that did the awesome job of fabricating my one-off hood decided it needed some weight saving. then i had to bribe him into making a scoop to make the hole in the hood functional, haha.

I wouldnt worry bout blowing up the engine. It's just a 4agze anyways, we could always just 3vz-fte it when you've grenaded it. Course you'll have to come get it, haha. yoshimitsuspeed03-10-2007, 01:59 AMwell i didnt ask for the hole, but the guy that did the awesome job of fabricating my one-off hood decided it needed some weight saving. then i had to bribe him into making a scoop to make the hole in the hood functional, haha.

Now wouldn't that be fun:) mr2greasemonkey03-10-2007, 02:25 AMI'll let you know how BTH goes, i'll try and get two sets of turbo system fabbed so we'll have a spare. ixMR2xi04-15-2007, 10:47 PMum... Davis04-15-2007, 10:51 PM. ToyotaTechGeek10-23-2007, 08:55 AM***edit***

:D
Just kidding... no flames please Dan S11-16-2007, 03:33 PMVery cool. How much of a difference did it make, and at what speeds?

no idea on how much it helps with aero, but even being a 1.5 it has NEVER overheated, even on the track in the summer in arizona (yay 122 degrees)

i don't think the car is designed correctly for making a front vent like this to have much aerodynamic aid. granted, it's probably better than just the flat panel that usually goes there, but how much better... /shrugs.
