View Full Version : Request from El Paalo, Pics of my Mr Two

NoddE08-01-2005, 06:56 PMHello, didnt know about this board until El Paalo told me, he wanted me to post pics of my Mr Two here so sure why not :D

Dont know where to start, but my 1 year project has finally come to an end (2 years if counting the year i worked hard to save up the money)

It started with the so common "i wanted a gen3 engine" phrase, then my friend Andreas (MR2-Mannen) found a front wrecked GTS -95 that the seller wanted to sell for the same money just a gen3 engine would cost, good or bad i dont know because when i got a whole gts to take parts from....why not do it, and there it started

I swapped over almost the entire car to my usdm 91 body, suspension arms, brakes, brake booster, covers, doors, body parts, bolts, nuts, screws, engine, all interior i could take (limited because of the rhd jdm gts) and the jdm oem keyless entry it had. While i had all parts lose from the GTS i powder coated the parts (you have probably seen the pictures before on my bed full with powder coated parts

The keyless was a mess because i had no elecrical diagram so i had to measure all electrical stuff in the gts that had to do with the keyless entry system, including the doors and door ecu because i wanted to merge the 91 alarma together with the keyless from the gts, and both cars had two totally different door signal system. Today this is still not solved completely but i can open the doors with the keyless and the alarm sets, but i still have to adjust some wires because it is not working 100% but i know this will be fixed without to much problems. I just dont want to right now because the ordinary keylock works as it should and im spending all time i have tuning the engine in :)

The A/C system was taken out completely = all parts gone and everything rewired to work as a non a/c works

The gauge cluster was also swapped including the steering wheel column and wiper/light control sticks, this resulted in that i could get the jdm cruise control switch mounted in its original place in the steering wheel column = no home made bracket for the cruise control that usually has to be done when switching steering wheel ..and yes the cruise control worked perfectly with my gen3 engine swap from the start, so did the swapped gauge cluster including the trd speedometer
btw, it took me a couple of hours to get used to have the wiper and light switch on the opposite sides of the steering column

So after swapping and "repinning" the door harness, gauge cluster, wiper & light switch, a/c system, cruise control, engine harness, alarm and keyless system the only thing that didnt work 100% at the first try was the keyless, still pretty good i think :)

the look... I have tried hard to not be a copy cat because i dont want others to copy my car, at the same time i wanted the body parts to match each other, so i ended up with a sard front, air walker sides, ask sport hood, rev 6 head lights, keiths rpm garage engine and trunk lid incl the 98 wing center piece and a BN sports rear halv bumper, which i believe noone on this board has ever seen before except on the one picture bn sports has themself  ...and i went with the border mirrors (wanted the sard first but they were out of stock when i was to order and andreas source said that they was almost identical and yes they were)
My TRD rims were also special ordered straight from rays thanks to Andreas even though they have been discontinued for a while now

the engine.. just read the spec instead

You know I love the car.
I can't get the damned thing outta my head. Your car is the main reason I'll be getting my old mkii back sometime in the next few months. Just gotta work out the details ........ like $$$ and a tow vehicle and then an engine. I'll have to have a 5 year plan and a 20k budget though since I know I won't be able to keep from modding my truck too. Ncturnal08-02-2005, 09:40 AM:omg: Very nice. I know you've put lots of time and effort in it. Awesome. mr2na08-02-2005, 09:48 AMCar looks awesome! Looks like you've put a lot of work into the car. The rear bumper is very nice. i did not want to mess with the throttlebody and transmission so those are only sprayed.. but i was lucky and found a spray color that was almost identical to the powder silver i used :) mymr2turbo08-04-2005, 10:48 PMyou can use the same chamois that you use for the paint on the under-carriage.....It's that damn clean!!
