~dodge08-10-2016, 02:19 AMhart black zinc plated slotted & drilled rotors that i got for really smoking deal due to eBay bucks & promo code less than 110$ shipped seemed affordable installing blue braided lines thursday then doing complete detail. pads are stop tech pro street & track pads. detail is extremely over-due from being poorly stored (for only 6 1/2 months):omg:

motegi racing mr125 17x7.5 discontinued wheels :( 16.4lbs & actually affordable enough to buy an extra set (i think some are still available in 4x100 on eBay. a friend wanted some to fit her car & all i contacted or did buy it now later informed me the wheels weren't available, yet they don't pull their auctions/ads. makes no sense)

mini light replica wheels

i think they're panasport (will have to look again)

i think these are the kewlest cars. they dropped during high school for me & thought they were brilliant. mid engine car that's reliable & light? lotus chassis i can see getting a second generation turbo down the road, but have always loved the mk1 the most being the lightest, most nimble, of the lot once set up properly. supposed to get my pulley kit thursday & might mount it up just to see how the car is w/out a grunt box installed. damn, reminds me, gotta hit the dyno:devil:
39226 ~dodge09-15-2016, 07:35 PMnever made it to a dyno :( (so my baseline will end up being w/grunt box/larger pulley whenever i make it to one) i knew i wouldn't learn anything earth shattering & didn't feel like waiting til they have time to install my kit

so, installed the grunt box a couple of days ago & just the g.b. was a decent improvement in performance over-all & helped the flat spot @ rpm already mentioned. i was still getting some stumbling on the upper rpm range so was suspicious fuel filter might be the cause. yesterday installed a 3T (techno toy tuning) 175mm/14psi pulley & replaced fuel filter too. the grunt box install revealed that the fuel filter was a bit plugged up & causing lack of fuel when i needed it most & already had one to install anyways. as expected, stumbling pretty much eliminated. i'm not positive, but pretty sure this was the original fuel filter still, & plan on cutting it apart to inspect the inside. will post up what it looks like, unless it's not worhwhile......

(someone from another forum asked about this post & felt obligated to share more information) ;) mr2tim09-18-2016, 10:49 PMHey cowboy, car looks great. Those ltwgt rims are used at the track a lot. Nice choice.

If your firewall filter looks contaminated (when cut open)you may want to investigate the fuel pump sock filter.

My in tank filter sock was so bad that when I filled the tank over 1/3 full the weight of the fuel would collapse the sock and strangle fuel supply under WOT.

Hope you post up the dyno results as we don't get real info much here on this conversion.

Regards,

:D
all i still have left to get done; is s/c full service.
i have all fluids/gear oil required to do this job. & am taking it to the last owners mechanic. that last serviced the s/c & knows the car ie it's getting challenging to find people that are willing to mess w/supercharger & this is even having a bgb in hand to walk them thru the procedure which doesn't seem difficult @ all, but also something i don't want to mess up & get done wrong so i end up w/chaostrophic failure..... since i've never seen it done & think it's worth the expense of making certain it's done correctly. i also need to get brake system completely flushed due to swapping to motul high temp dot4 brake fluid w/blue sleeved steel braided lines. so a shop w/that sort of kit is required to r&r brake fluid

after that, i schedule dyno run w/175mm pulley(supposedly 14psi)/grunt box/TRD header/dual exit free flow no cat exhaust/recently installed a 225mm fidanza aluminum flywheel & illegal garage drifting clutch(if i ever ended up racing this engine/transmission, i'd have max build me a 200mm chromoly flywheel & 200mm drifting clutch to further reduce enertia experienced w/everything involved)/mr125 motegi racing 17" wheels/205-40.17 kumho ecsta 4xII (hopefully my daiyama coilovers will be here by the time i get car to the dyno as i know traction effects #s)

i'm a member of a service that does price matching so ended up acquiring a fidanza flywheel for 336$ shipped. it's 225mm & looks similar to our oem flywheel (which isn't as heavy as people would have you believe, btw) so if you are limited budget then consider going w/the 200mm corolla clutch kit. just needs to be 21 spline & everything needs to be 200mm or whatever mm you chose. as stated max can get a custom made chromoly flywheel. i didn't know this prior to ordering the fidanza kit & @ the time, thought staying w/225mm, might be better due to higher performance of s/c set up vs. the n/a oem type output. the smaller diameter & lighter weight will behave like it's even lighter, due to being smaller outer diameter as well. i'm confident most peeps on this forum know this. but i wasn't aware myself that anything from 200-225mm will actually work in the e51 transmission on all 5 spd mk1s. as stated must be 21 spline & correct inner diameter but have read in mutiple resources now that imply the clutches are inter-changable. which is again kind of kewl to know. also, that any of the LSD from the toyota mk2 turbo or mk3 turbo cars will work in my rear end & thus allow lsd performance which is desirable to me

(anyone reading this have the parts needed & don't need them, please don't hesitate to pm me about buying LSD from you)

illegal garage in norcal makes anything clutch related to order ie custom dual friction 'drift-clutch' for instance. kevlar on flywheel side, i think...... ceramic type material on the other

39653
arp flywheel bolts torqued to 70lbs per arp instructions & also used loctite since i use it all the time on my motorcycles
39654
fidanza 8.7lb flywheel (yet another 'new' to me sound radiating from my engine which is kewl & unexpected)
39655
part of illegal garage kit uses a aisin heavy duty clutch cover that's an oem for one of the corollas. i think gts, but might be another one. it feels very close to what the s/c oem clutch feels like but even lighter force needed to engage/disengage. which i'm thinking is desirable in a racing type clutch set up ie less energy over 'x' amount of time adds up quickly. especially @ track/auto-cross pace
